Our Story
The Start
Founded in 2022 in British Columbia, Canada, Securing The Future was created with a simple belief: the future of physical security and cybersecurity depends on people who are willing to learn from one another.
What began as an idea shared by a small group of professionals has grown into one of Canada's leading nonprofit conferences dedicated to advancing the physical security and cybersecurity professions. Our vision was never to build just another conference. We wanted to create a trusted community where leaders, practitioners, innovators, and future professionals could come together to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and inspire meaningful change.
Behind Securing The Future is a diverse organizing committee with more than 25 years of international experience in conference planning, leadership, and community engagement. Our team represents different nationalities, cultures, languages, and professional backgrounds. Those differences have become one of our greatest strengths, allowing us to create an inclusive environment where every perspective is respected and every conversation has value.
Our Educational Philosophy
Education is the foundation of everything we do.
While our exhibition showcases innovative technologies and gives attendees the opportunity to connect with leading organizations across the security industry, our conference stage is dedicated entirely to education.
Every keynote speaker, moderator, and panelist is selected because they are a respected subject matter expert with proven experience and a genuine passion for sharing knowledge. Our sessions are never designed to promote products or services. Instead, they are built around honest conversations, diverse perspectives, and practical lessons that attendees can take back to their organizations.
We believe the most valuable discussions happen when experts are free to share their experiences, challenge conventional thinking, and respectfully debate the issues shaping our profession.
Focused on What Matters
Every keynote, panel discussion, fireside chat, and executive roundtable is carefully curated to address the challenges facing today's security professionals.
Our discussions explore the convergence of physical security and cybersecurity, while also addressing artificial intelligence, critical infrastructure protection, privacy, public safety, enterprise resilience, leadership, emerging threats, and the technologies transforming the security landscape.
Rather than discussing what products can do, we focus on what organizations need to know. We encourage meaningful dialogue, real-world case studies, lessons learned, and collaborative problem-solving that helps professionals make better decisions and build stronger, more resilient organizations.
Built for the Community
Securing The Future was created with a simple belief: when knowledge is shared, everyone benefits. We believe the strongest partnerships are built through collaboration, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to protecting our communities.
Every conference is designed to bring together professionals who are passionate about advancing physical security and cybersecurity, encouraging open dialogue, exchanging real-world experiences, and finding practical solutions to today's evolving challenges.
Our mission has never been to profit from education. Whenever possible, we offer our conferences free of charge to make them accessible to as many professionals as we can. When registration fees are necessary to help cover the cost of delivering the event, 100% of ticket proceeds are donated to a nonprofit organization that supports our communities. We believe that education should create value far beyond the conference itself, leaving a lasting impact on both the people who attend and the communities we all serve.
Everything we do is guided by one purpose: to strengthen the physical security and cybersecurity community through education, collaboration, and service. Because securing the future is not the responsibility of one organization, one technology, or one profession; it is a shared responsibility built by people who care enough to work together.
